We haven’t had a post in awhile, so maybe I can get the ball rolling with a clip from Michael Cera flipping out on the set of Youth in Revolt. Not sure if this is real or staged, but I love the robe. Shows how down to earth he really is.

Wish I could have found a shorter clip. Hilarity ensues around :23. You can quit watching after about 30 seconds.
The great Rudy Ray Moore died Sunday of complications from diabetes, according to news reports. He was 81. He was the self-proclaimed godfather or rap, so I thought it would appropriate to pay my respects here on the blog. May you rest in a piece… I mean peace. Action directed by Roberto Lopez. Some of the stunt players in this project went on to work on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, The Matrix, Ultraviolet, Once Upon A Time In China, Beowulf, Rundown, and The Dave Chappelle Show.

I don’t have anything against cover songs. Heck, I’ve been in a few cover bands. \m/ But we’ve all heard them… terrible covers of great songs. Here is my list of the top five worst covers of all time in the order I hate them:
P.S. I hated the orginal version of Drift Away… the cover never helped matters.
P.P.S. Who has used “P.S.” Since high school?
5) Madonna – American Pie (Don McLean)
4) Uncle Cracker – Drift Away (Doby Gray)
3) Metallica – Turn the Page (Bob Segar)
2) Disturbed – Land of Confusion (Genesis)
1) Sheryl Crow – Sweet Child O Mine (Guns-n-Roses)

I was emailed this from my buddy Justin. Thought it would be appropriate for the blog.
Thanks to Josh for turning me on to this dude. I love his stuff. Here’s his new joint, Stay at Home Dad:
You can find more on YouTube or his Web site. Look for High as F#@K or the Two Girls, One Cup song.
Do you remember Billy Squier? Stroke Me, Lonely is the Night Billy Squier? That dude rocked. Do you remember this video? It didn’t rock as much. If you’re like me, you’ve tried to block it from your memory. But when the subject of bad videos was brought up at work, the memories came rushing back like a queer tidal wave. So painful to watch. Gentlemen, I give you “the video that created AIDS”:
Ever wanted to download and keep the videos you see on YouTube and other video sites? Here’s a nifty little tool my friend Sean turned me on too, KEEPVID. Pretty neat Web app. Play with it.

Every now and then a I happen upon a band that I missed and wished I hadn’t – Swervedriver and Hum come to mind. A band that probably said, “fuck sounding like The Velvet Underground or the Beach Boys… let’s just kick some ass.” This band- Th’ Faith Healers – had a very unique sound and energy that is sorely missed in today’s Indie Rock scene. Anyway here’s a video featuring one of their songs, but not much of them. Just members of other Brit Indie Rock bands of the day (probably around 1990-1991). So quinch your lips; scruntch your nose; squint your eyes; and bob your head to Th’ Faith Healers’ – My Looser. Hell yeah.
